Narrative:
En route to an EMS emergency call to landing at the scene of a motorcycle accident, I encountered an ultralight vehicle at approximately 500 ft AGL (1500 MSL). I saw him as I passed over him and immediately instituted a hard cyclic climb as an evasive maneuver. By that time, I was over the scene. Because I did not know the current position of the ultralight, I continued southwest for 1 mi, then turned and shot my approach to the scene to the east. The ultralight overflew the scene after my landing and circled the scene for 20 mins until my turn-up. Because I could not determine his location from the cockpit. I asked a sheriff's deputy at the scene to signal when the ultralight was clear so I could depart. I departed southwest, climbed to 1000 ft AGL, then turned from 290 degrees to 030 degrees and proceeded to the hospital with no further incidents.
