Narrative:
During pushback from gate X at atl, a normal start of the left engine of ship Y (large transport), flight Z from atl/bwi was accomplished. While waiting for taxi clearance, a heavy buffeting was experienced as an medium large transport that had also been pushed back (tail to tail) from gate B, initiated its taxi, the trust from its engine caused our engine to flame out. The engine was shutdown in compliance with the 'engine failure' checklist. When a mechanic checked on the interphone, he reported a fire in the engine and requested the engine be turned. The starter was rotated and the fire was extinguished. The aircraft was pulled back to the gate. No overheat or fire indication was ever received in the cockpit.
