Narrative:
While on a scheduled flight from lnk to msp the right engine failed with a loud bang. The aircraft, an light transport was leveled off and the failed engine was secured according to company procedures. Msp center at this point in time called to change frequencys. At that point, the captain told msp center of our situation and declared an emergency. We were then told to contact oma approach because of our location and that we wanted to land there. Once with oma approach, we advised of our situation, fuel on board and number of passenger on board. We also requested crash fire rescue to assist us on the ground. The approach and landing was normal for an engine out approach. We landed in oma safely with no further incident or any injuries at all to the crew or passenger. On the ground, the crash fire rescue inspected the engine for fire. There was none and we were cleared to the gate. We then unloaded the passenger at the gate. We then talked to our dispatch, flight department, and the oma ATC people. The FAA then talked to us and released us and the aircraft. The aircraft and all on board suffered no injuries except for the failed engine. All ended ok.
