Narrative:

Flying from ocf to mqy diverting around thunderstorms, in and out of clouds at 6000 ft. Sudden loss of all electrical power - - and therefore communications and navs -- just after transponder failure and reported loss of radar contact by ATC. About to enter stormy looking clouds with reported thunderstorms just west of lgc. Decided unsafe to fly in clouds and storms without radar or radio navigation. Turned back away from clouds, descended in clear WX so could follow road under clouds to either columbus or back to albany. Got out portable radio, and with help of columbus approach, got to columbus airport
