Narrative:
After preflight an FAA ramp inspector found a small pin missing from a main door hinge cover that I missed on the preflight on my walk around. I was concentrating on the main gear wheels the brake debooster and the lower gear doors and as I walked around the landing gear I failed to look up at the gear door attach point. If I had I could have seen the pin missing. This error I believe was caused by complacency, lack of a positive attitude due to job security and events unfolding at my airline and a short over night (10 O'clock) layover. I had only 4 hours of sleep.
