Narrative:
Light single engine aircraft exited cloud ahead of our aircraft. TCASII signaled a TA, then an RA. We responded to the command and deviated approximately 600 ft from assigned altitude. Supplemental information from acn 217740: no ATC advisory was given. ATC was advised and we returned to assigned altitude.
