Narrative:
There is a 'bonnr' and an 'otter' intersection on the jhawk 1 arrival to kansas city international. I understood the controller, (ZKC, low sector) to say 'cross bonnr intersection at 11000, 250 KTS.' I read back 'cross bonnr at 11000, 250 KTS,' very distinctively. Bonnr is about the same as the old 'hooze' intersection at the hooze arrival. The controller gave me a frequency change to kansas city approach control, and said 'by the way, you missed 'otter' intersection back there.' I stated 'I thought you said bonnr at 11000 and 250.' I asked him if there was a problem, or conflict, and he replied 'no, contact approach control. I suggest changing otter or bonnr because they sound alike.

I READ BACK 'CROSS BONNR AT 11000, 250 KTS,' VERY DISTINCTIVELY. BONNR IS ABOUT THE SAME AS THE OLD 'HOOZE' INTXN AT THE HOOZE ARR. THE CTLR GAVE ME A FREQ CHANGE TO KANSAS CITY APCH CTL, AND SAID 'BY THE WAY, YOU MISSED 'OTTER' INTXN BACK THERE.' I STATED 'I THOUGHT YOU SAID BONNR AT 11000 AND 250.' I ASKED HIM IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM, OR CONFLICT, AND HE REPLIED 'NO, CONTACT APCH CTL. I SUGGEST CHANGING OTTER OR BONNR BECAUSE THEY SOUND ALIKE.
