Narrative:
Upon takeoff in type class aircraft at V2 approximately 500 ft AGL an aircraft (small aircraft) turned from base to final on 18 opposing our direction of flight. The PIC and only rated pilot did not alter course for safety reasons later stated as airspeed and altitude. The small aircraft did alter course to the right.
