Narrative:
Air carrier X sdf-dfw was being vectored and was on a heading of 010 degrees at FL280, 250 KIAS. The controller was working several aircraft and was very busy. She told us to turn right to 120 degrees and we were just starting the turn when a new voice (male) came on and urgently told us to turn left to 240 degrees and descend to FL270 best rate. I felt it necessary to shove forward on the yoke sensing a traffic conflict. He then called out traffic less than a mi opposite direction. As he spoke, we saw what appeared to be an medium large transport pass over us at what we assume was FL280. I think he was being worked by another controller. The first controller then came back on and continued to work the traffic as if nothing had happened. I don't know what alerted them. I believe that our controller became distracted with other traffic as she hadn't talked to us for several mins as we moved further north probably out of her sector. I believe it is just as important for TCASII equipment on cargo planes as any other.

Title: ACR X SAME ALT ASSIGNED HAD NMAC LTSS FROM MLG. SYS ERROR.
Narrative: ACR X SDF-DFW WAS BEING VECTORED AND WAS ON A HDG OF 010 DEGS AT FL280, 250 KIAS. THE CTLR WAS WORKING SEVERAL ACFT AND WAS VERY BUSY. SHE TOLD US TO TURN R TO 120 DEGS AND WE WERE JUST STARTING THE TURN WHEN A NEW VOICE (MALE) CAME ON AND URGENTLY TOLD US TO TURN L TO 240 DEGS AND DSND TO FL270 BEST RATE. I FELT IT NECESSARY TO SHOVE FORWARD ON THE YOKE SENSING A TFC CONFLICT. HE THEN CALLED OUT TFC LESS THAN A MI OPPOSITE DIRECTION. AS HE SPOKE, WE SAW WHAT APPEARED TO BE AN MLG PASS OVER US AT WHAT WE ASSUME WAS FL280. I THINK HE WAS BEING WORKED BY ANOTHER CTLR. THE FIRST CTLR THEN CAME BACK ON AND CONTINUED TO WORK THE TFC AS IF NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ALERTED THEM. I BELIEVE THAT OUR CTLR BECAME DISTRACTED WITH OTHER TFC AS SHE HADN'T TALKED TO US FOR SEVERAL MINS AS WE MOVED FURTHER N PROBABLY OUT OF HER SECTOR. I BELIEVE IT IS JUST AS IMPORTANT FOR TCASII EQUIP ON CARGO PLANES AS ANY OTHER.
