TCASII advised 'traffic, traffic' then 'descend, descend.' ivsi showed green at 1500 FPM down. I descended to FL325 and received 'clear of conflict.' tokyo control advised we had 5 mi at all times (not true). So much for 'face.'

Title: A WDB HAD RESPONDED TO A TCASII COMMAND TO DSND IN FOREIGN AIRSPACE. THE RPTING PLTS BELIEVE THAT THERE WAS NOT STANDARD SEPARATION.
Narrative: TCASII ADVISED 'TFC, TFC' THEN 'DSND, DSND.' IVSI SHOWED GREEN AT 1500 FPM DOWN. I DSNDED TO FL325 AND RECEIVED 'CLR OF CONFLICT.' TOKYO CTL ADVISED WE HAD 5 MI AT ALL TIMES (NOT TRUE). SO MUCH FOR 'FACE.'
