Narrative:
Excessive fuel consumption en route resulted in unscheduled fuel stop. Computer generated flight plan was based on wrong cargo load resulting in insufficient fuel loaded for flight. This was, apparently, caused by typographical error by the ramp agent requesting the flight plan and was overlooked by flight crew.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR FREIGHT HAULER IS DISPATCHED WITH INADEQUATE FUEL BASED ON LIGHTED CARGO PAYLOAD THAN ACTUAL.
Narrative: EXCESSIVE FUEL CONSUMPTION ENRTE RESULTED IN UNSCHEDULED FUEL STOP. COMPUTER GENERATED FLT PLAN WAS BASED ON WRONG CARGO LOAD RESULTING IN INSUFFICIENT FUEL LOADED FOR FLT. THIS WAS, APPARENTLY, CAUSED BY TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR BY THE RAMP AGENT REQUESTING THE FLT PLAN AND WAS OVERLOOKED BY FLC.
