Narrative:
This was a scheduled flight originating in nassau, bahamas and terminating in miami. After landing and parking in miami, one of the ramp agents told us that one of our nose wheels was missing. During the post-flight inspection the captain and I noticed that both the tire and rim were in fact missing. The captain then entered this information in the aircraft maintenance log. During the preflight I inspected the overall condition of the nose gear structure and found everything to be normal. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: aircraft manufacturer representative indicates that this has happened before. They are taking measures to prevent its recurrence. The entire wheel and tire assembly fell off the airplane. The aircraft tracked straight ahead during takeoff and landing, they had no idea they had a problem until they arrived in mia.
