Narrative:
Flight attendant class xx/92 at abc airlines graduating 1992. The aircraft our company operates is the mdt and the light transport. The flight attendant class in question received initial operating experience in the mdt after graduation, but never received initial operating experience in the light transport. The nature of these flight attendants training on the light transport consisted of 'observation flts' (2 per flight attendant). On these flts the flight attendants in question were shown emergency equipment and exits but were not shown how to use the PA system and their knowledge of passenger seating relating to aircraft weight and balance is incomplete at best. I have flown with 2 different flight attendants from this class, and both exhibit the same lack of training. It is my belief that these flight attendants should be given a complete initial operating experience with hands-on training in all aspects of the operation of the aircraft, not just observing an experienced flight attendant instructor working a flight.

Title: CABIN ATTENDANT TRAINING CRITICIZES POOR TRAINING OF CABIN ATTENDANT. INITIAL OPERATING EXPERIENCE ON ONLY 1 OF 2 MODELS FLOWN BY COMPANY.
Narrative: FLT ATTENDANT CLASS XX/92 AT ABC AIRLINES GRADUATING 1992. THE ACFT OUR COMPANY OPERATES IS THE MDT AND THE LTT. THE FLT ATTENDANT CLASS IN QUESTION RECEIVED INITIAL OPERATING EXPERIENCE IN THE MDT AFTER GRADUATION, BUT NEVER RECEIVED INITIAL OPERATING EXPERIENCE IN THE LTT. THE NATURE OF THESE FLT ATTENDANTS TRAINING ON THE LTT CONSISTED OF 'OBSERVATION FLTS' (2 PER FLT ATTENDANT). ON THESE FLTS THE FLT ATTENDANTS IN QUESTION WERE SHOWN EMER EQUIP AND EXITS BUT WERE NOT SHOWN HOW TO USE THE PA SYS AND THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF PAX SEATING RELATING TO ACFT WT AND BAL IS INCOMPLETE AT BEST. I HAVE FLOWN WITH 2 DIFFERENT FLT ATTENDANTS FROM THIS CLASS, AND BOTH EXHIBIT THE SAME LACK OF TRAINING. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THESE FLT ATTENDANTS SHOULD BE GIVEN A COMPLETE INITIAL OPERATING EXPERIENCE WITH HANDS-ON TRAINING IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE OP OF THE ACFT, NOT JUST OBSERVING AN EXPERIENCED FLT ATTENDANT INSTRUCTOR WORKING A FLT.
