Narrative:
I departed denver stapleton airport in an small aircraft off of runway 26L. On my climb out, at approximately 800 ft AGL, the tower told me to turn to a southerly heading. Just after I initiated a 20- 25 degree bank turn, I felt a sudden gust of cold air in the cockpit. I could not see any doors or windows open and the baggage door in the aft part of the aircraft was beyond my view. I contacted the tower and told them that I thought I had a door open and needed to return for a normal landing. Upon reaching the airport and the runup area, I inspected the cargo door and found it to be open. I noticed that a bag which had previously been there was no longer in the cargo area. I shut and resecured the baggage door and continued my trip without any further problems. It is not known if the bag was lost in flight or while taxiing. Upon return to the aircraft's home base, I had a mechanic inspect the door and adjust it for security.
