Narrative:

On approach into jackson, ms, we had a nose gear unlock indication, made a fly-by from the approach and tower confirmed that the nose gear was not down. Executed missed approach and performed the abnormal procedure of extending the gear via alternate gear extension procedure. Made subsequent fly-by's to visually confirm the nose gear was down. Supplemental information from acn 231306: after using the alternate gear extension procedures, we received cockpit indications of the gear being down and locked. Tower inquired as to whether we wanted the emergency equipment standing by to which we agreed. On this second and final fly-by, our maintenance personnel were on hand to make a definite verification that the airplane's landing gear (all) were indeed down. Maintenance came to the airplane after we turned off the active and installed the gear pins after which we taxied safely to the gate.
