Narrative:
While in cruise at FL370 visually and on radar confirmed a line of severe WX approximately 150-200 NM wide over jesse intersection, tops varied up to FL410. Notified ny commercial radio on HF that we needed a right turn to avoid WX and requested 80 NM west of course and FL390 to avoid. At 40 NM from WX, again requested right turn and climb immediately. At 20 NM from WX, we notified ATC (ny commercial radio) that we were turning right off course and climbing 500 ft to FL375. At this point, turbulence was moderate and increasing. After paralleling line of severe WX for approximately 20 NM, radar showed a path to jesse was available off our left wing. We notified ny commercial radio that we were turning direct jesse (our cleared fix) and were descending back to 370 when on course again. We passed over jesse within 2 mins of our estimate in our last position report, descended to FL370 and verified with ATC that we were back on course and level FL370.
