Narrative:
Air carrier flight bos-syr. Started #2 engine and single engine taxi. Started #1 on taxi out. After start low oil pressure light, #1 engine, stayed on. All other indications normal. Shut engine #1 down and returned to gate. Aircraft departed with MEL for light. On second start of engine #1, low oil pressure light went out. Should have tried a second engine start after checking light, cannon plug and oil quantity before departing on MEL.

Narrative: ACR FLT BOS-SYR. STARTED #2 ENG AND SINGLE ENG TAXI. STARTED #1 ON TAXI OUT. AFTER START LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT, #1 ENG, STAYED ON. ALL OTHER INDICATIONS NORMAL. SHUT ENG #1 DOWN AND RETURNED TO GATE. ACFT DEPARTED WITH MEL FOR LIGHT. ON SECOND START OF ENG #1, LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT WENT OUT. SHOULD HAVE TRIED A SECOND ENG START AFTER CHKING LIGHT, CANNON PLUG AND OIL QUANTITY BEFORE DEPARTING ON MEL.
