Narrative:
While taxiing for departure, the 'left fuel heat on' advisory light located on the annunciator panel illuminated advising us that the left fuel heat valve has been activated to the open position allowing high pressure bleed air to enter the fuel/air heat exchanger to heat the fuel to prevent icing. While continuing our taxi to the active runway my first officer and I discussed the situation. After checking the abnormals procedures and reviewing our options, we decided that the flight could proceed to our destination safely based on the following facts: 1) both fuel and oil temperatures were normal, indicating that the high pressure bleed valve was closed and that the advisory light was a faulty indication. 2) no icing was forecast for our route of flight. 3) during our flight our fuel and oil remained in the normal range and no further incident occurred. After arriving at our destination I informed our maintenance and wrote the discrepancy up. Supplemental information from acn 233856: with FAA flight standards inspector on jump seat, we pushed back and the fuel heat circuit breaker popped.

Title: MLG TKOF WITH 'FUEL HEAT ON' LIGHT ILLUMINATED.
Narrative: WHILE TAXIING FOR DEP, THE 'L FUEL HEAT ON' ADVISORY LIGHT LOCATED ON THE ANNUNCIATOR PANEL ILLUMINATED ADVISING US THAT THE L FUEL HEAT VALVE HAS BEEN ACTIVATED TO THE OPEN POS ALLOWING HIGH PRESSURE BLEED AIR TO ENTER THE FUEL/AIR HEAT EXCHANGER TO HEAT THE FUEL TO PREVENT ICING. WHILE CONTINUING OUR TAXI TO THE ACTIVE RWY MY FO AND I DISCUSSED THE SIT. AFTER CHKING THE ABNORMALS PROCS AND REVIEWING OUR OPTIONS, WE DECIDED THAT THE FLT COULD PROCEED TO OUR DEST SAFELY BASED ON THE FOLLOWING FACTS: 1) BOTH FUEL AND OIL TEMPS WERE NORMAL, INDICATING THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE BLEED VALVE WAS CLOSED AND THAT THE ADVISORY LIGHT WAS A FAULTY INDICATION. 2) NO ICING WAS FORECAST FOR OUR RTE OF FLT. 3) DURING OUR FLT OUR FUEL AND OIL REMAINED IN THE NORMAL RANGE AND NO FURTHER INCIDENT OCCURRED.
