Narrative:
Runway 09 on ATIS for departure. SID (logan 9) showed straight out off runway 9. Runway changed to 04R (requires turn at 4 DME to 090 degrees). We stayed on 040 degrees heading to about 6 DME (or so). We were above 3000 ft AGL. Controller queried us about 'are you in the turn?' and that's when we knew we were supposed to turn right. No conflict. Another contributing factor was ATC put the 'logan 9' departure at the bottom of a long narrative (routing) and we overlooked it initially, although I had it out for takeoff since that's the only departure they have at bos.
