Narrative:

On climb out from clt, aircraft experienced a loss of the right generator. Multiple warnings appeared. The first officer was flying at the time and we had clearance to climb to 23000 ft. All of the instruments were lost on the right side of the aircraft and we were about to level at 23000 ft when the electrical loss occurred. The captain took control of the aircraft and during the transfer an altitude deviation of about 2000 ft occurred. We corrected it once and told ZTL about the altitude deviation and the electrical problem. They acknowledged and said our transponder was not working. Within a few mins we were on a backup generator and proceeded to our destination of bos. The deviation was a result of the loss of the right generator and all instruments on the right side of the aircraft.
