Narrative:
Feb/tue/93 upon departing IFR from oxnard on an IFR flight plan, I experienced a significant loss of power (manifold pressure). After notifying point mugo departure of my situation, I declared an emergency. The controller vectored me around for the ILS (I was IMC) oxnard. After I was established on ILS and descending, I broke out into VMC and saw camarillo airport. I notified point mugu, broke off the departure to oxnard, received clearance to land at camarillo. I did so. The landing was uneventful. After I secured my aircraft, a camarillo airport security guard asked me for my pilot's certificate and medical. At this time, I noticed I had allowed my medical to expire. The next day I went to my doctor and was examined. I received a new medical (see enclosed copy).
