Narrative:

Entered new york TCA. No clearance. Arrived farmingdale IFR, left VFR still using IFR charts. TCA not depicted on chart. No altitude restriction issued by farmingdale tower. They gave hints but I did not pick up on them. Example: 'no stage III service.' after turn on course tower said, 'frequency change approved.' I continued climb, through TCA airspace to cruise altitude of 9500 ft. Finally noticed airspace alert on chart border after leaving TCA. Checked VFR charts in aircraft and noted TCA violation. Contributing factors: pilot fatigue (physician worked XA00 to XB00 on day of flight). Unfamiliar airport. No caution from clearance delivery or tower (though I think they tried -- just needed to be more direct).

Title: PLT OF SMA GA ACFT DEPARTED ARPT UNDERNEATH TCA AND CLBED THROUGH TCA WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative: ENTERED NEW YORK TCA. NO CLRNC. ARRIVED FARMINGDALE IFR, LEFT VFR STILL USING IFR CHARTS. TCA NOT DEPICTED ON CHART. NO ALT RESTRICTION ISSUED BY FARMINGDALE TWR. THEY GAVE HINTS BUT I DID NOT PICK UP ON THEM. EXAMPLE: 'NO STAGE III SVC.' AFTER TURN ON COURSE TWR SAID, 'FREQ CHANGE APPROVED.' I CONTINUED CLB, THROUGH TCA AIRSPACE TO CRUISE ALT OF 9500 FT. FINALLY NOTICED AIRSPACE ALERT ON CHART BORDER AFTER LEAVING TCA. CHKED VFR CHARTS IN ACFT AND NOTED TCA VIOLATION. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: PLT FATIGUE (PHYSICIAN WORKED XA00 TO XB00 ON DAY OF FLT). UNFAMILIAR ARPT. NO CAUTION FROM CLRNC DELIVERY OR TWR (THOUGH I THINK THEY TRIED -- JUST NEEDED TO BE MORE DIRECT).
