Narrative:
Encountered severe turbulence on takeoff. No damage to aircraft nor passenger or crew. The line mechanic, that met our arriving aircraft at the gate in dfw, made an unauthorized entry into the aircraft logbook that 'the captain gave him a verbal that we encountered severe turbulence in-flight.' this last problem was told to me by my chief pilot. Nowhere in our manuals are we required to enter into the aircraft logbook that the aircraft encountered severe turbulence.
