Narrative:
During cruise at FL290 the pressurization unit failed on aircraft. The emergency pressurization opened and aircraft remained pressurized. I asked center for a lower altitude and was advised they were unable unless I declared an emergency. I did and got lower. At 11000 ft MSL, I advised we were ok. Center said no problem and we returned to home base.

Narrative: DURING CRUISE AT FL290 THE PRESSURIZATION UNIT FAILED ON ACFT. THE EMER PRESSURIZATION OPENED AND ACFT REMAINED PRESSURIZED. I ASKED CTR FOR A LOWER ALT AND WAS ADVISED THEY WERE UNABLE UNLESS I DECLARED AN EMER. I DID AND GOT LOWER. AT 11000 FT MSL, I ADVISED WE WERE OK. CTR SAID NO PROB AND WE RETURNED TO HOME BASE.
