Narrative:
After being cleared from tower frequency (where we were maintaining 6500 ft), were intercepted by 2 mexican fighters. One put gear down and signaled me to land. I waved and smiled hoping for a better offer (like proceed). They then departed up and to the rear 45 degrees with a double snap roll. The onc J-24 latest (data 1985) does not have mmr 104 on it, but referring to a lai chart, I finally saw it in the clutter. The mexican military are nice tolerant guys, but we sure could use an up-to- date WAC chart of south mexico. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter advised that he had attempted to call the mexican military and ATC with no luck. He wanted to settle this incident so that there would be no future repercussions. He plans to pursue the matter further. He did have the commercial chart available but simply missed the restr area when reading the chart.
