A hydraulic low quantity alert was activated after lowering the landing gear. The abnormal procedure called for a lengthy procedure, included was disarming the #1 hydraulic system which rendered the airplane to a reduced status. 1) no nosewheel steering. 2) no reverse thrust. 3) increased pressure to activate flight controls. 4) manually lowering landing gear. I declared an emergency because I requested safety equipment standing by, and I stopped on the runway which tied up the runway at clt for about 30 mins. Landing was uneventful. 1 landing gear door was damaged due to no power to retract them back into place. All checklists and procedures were accomplished.
