Narrative:
Installed upper left hand main landing gear torque link safety pin into link pin and bung assembly. Problem with spacers on shimmy damper area. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that he did not have any further information regarding the results of the improperly installed shimmy damper shim spacers, nor did he have anything to do with their installation. He stated that he had been told by other company personnel to turn in this report.

Title: ACR MECH RPTED A MAINT DISCREPANCY WHICH COULD RESULT IN A MAJOR LNDG FAILURE.
Narrative: INSTALLED UPPER L HAND MAIN LNDG GEAR TORQUE LINK SAFETY PIN INTO LINK PIN AND BUNG ASSEMBLY. PROB WITH SPACERS ON SHIMMY DAMPER AREA. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT HE DID NOT HAVE ANY FURTHER INFO REGARDING THE RESULTS OF THE IMPROPERLY INSTALLED SHIMMY DAMPER SHIM SPACERS, NOR DID HE HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THEIR INSTALLATION. HE STATED THAT HE HAD BEEN TOLD BY OTHER COMPANY PERSONNEL TO TURN IN THIS RPT.
