Narrative:

I was practicing night lndgs late sat night. I requested a 'practice ILS 27R approach' at philadelphia TCA. I was cleared into the TCA and vectored on the approach. I was handed over to tower. They requested I speed up and I complied. Approximately 3 mi out, I requested the option of 'touch and go.' I heard no reply. I performed procedure, while taking off I repeatedly called tower, then approach. No reply. I switched radios and immediately heard approach criticize me for an 'unauthorized procedure.' they said that touch and go was not allowed at phl. I left TCA without incident. Human factors. I was accustomed to practice ILS approachs ending with 'the option' including touch and go. I recently read about touch and go at major TCA during late night. I found no notice of this rule in current airport facility directory prohibiting touch and go at phl.

I FOUND NO NOTICE OF THIS RULE IN CURRENT ARPT FACILITY DIRECTORY PROHIBITING TOUCH AND GO AT PHL.
