Narrative:
Taxiing out to runway 8 I taxied past the runway boundary line. The morning was completely overcast with ragged ceiling at 500-1000 ft AGL. The sky was completely gray. The taxiway was covered with a water sheen from a light drizzle. The reflection of the light gray morning off the wet pavement hid the runway boundary line. In addition the new runway sign (as I recall) is partially obscured by another sign in front of it. It was remarked later by tower personnel that this was a common error on this runway. I would suggest that the airport facility view this boundary marking while at the approximately ht of a single engine airplane going toward runway 8. It appears the marker for the hold line and the ILS boundary line need to be clearly marked.

Title: SMA TAXIES ONTO RWY DUE POOR SIGNAGE AND WX CONDITIONS.
Narrative: TAXIING OUT TO RWY 8 I TAXIED PAST THE RWY BOUNDARY LINE. THE MORNING WAS COMPLETELY OVCST WITH RAGGED CEILING AT 500-1000 FT AGL. THE SKY WAS COMPLETELY GRAY. THE TXWY WAS COVERED WITH A WATER SHEEN FROM A LIGHT DRIZZLE. THE REFLECTION OF THE LIGHT GRAY MORNING OFF THE WET PAVEMENT HID THE RWY BOUNDARY LINE. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT THE ARPT FACILITY VIEW THIS BOUNDARY MARKING WHILE AT THE APPROX HT OF A SINGLE ENG AIRPLANE GOING TOWARD RWY 8. IT APPEARS THE MARKER FOR THE HOLD LINE AND THE ILS BOUNDARY LINE NEED TO BE CLRLY MARKED.
