Narrative:
We were flying the border (river) from laredo to brownsville on a cap mission, we had to go around other rain showers before the incident. We had no intentions to go through the controled airspace. When we got to mcallen my mind was to avoid crossing into mexico and turn to the east and go around the rain storm when we realized the mcallen airport was under us at 1200 MSL. We continued to fly to the river onto brownsville and land. Brownsville asked us to call the tower at mfe so we did. They told us about a possible deviation. The contributing factors were the WX poor flight planning. The corrections will be to plan my flight better, also I have advised all the pilots in our squadron about the incident and how to avoid.
