Narrative:

Upon gear retraction first officer noticed #1 and #2 fire bottle were illuminated. The lights are located below the glare shield (medium large transport aircraft) and not easily visible. It could have been missed on preflight but I don't think so. Investigating previous write-up, it was found both #1 and #2 fire bottles were changes by maintenance within 60 days. It is also possible to fire both bottles as a result of an electrical short which could have happened on takeoff at lga, as runways are very rough.
