Narrative:
Flight accomplished a normal landing on runway 17L at dfw and exited the runway at S2. The first officer was the PF. Dfw tower instructions were to make a hard right turn onto taxiway left and proceed northbound to taxiway 21 and hold short at runway 17L. The aircraft slowed to a safe taxi speed and the captain called for the after landing checklist in accordance with the fom. More than 1/2 way through the turn onto taxiway left, the aircraft seemed too sluggish to continue taxi and the captain brought the aircraft to an immediate stop. Dfw tower was informed that we were unable to continue taxi. Company maintenance was then notified and coordination was initiated to evaluate the aircraft condition. Upon arrival at the aircraft, maintenance informed the crew that the right main gear had sunk in the pavement on the taxiway shoulder. The pavement was found to be hot and mushy due to high ambient temperatures. No injuries or aircraft damage was involved.
