Narrative:

With first officer flying, we were cleared for takeoff from ord runway 22L to fly heading 080 degrees. No mention was made of possible conflicting traffic. At approximately 1200 ft MSL, we received a TCASII RA to 'monitor vertical speed' followed immediately by 'descend.' simultaneously, the first officer visually saw the medium large transport above and to our right and corrected our flight path to avoid collision. The medium large transport had apparently taken off from runway 14R at ord. The tower did mention to someone, not us, 'we'll see how this works out.' the closest we came to the medium large transport according to our TCASII was plus 200 ft (other aircraft) had less than 1/2 mi. Contributing factors: converging flight paths after takeoff from runway 14R and runway 22L at ord. Lack of conflicting TA's by tower. Numerous minimum separation takeoffs from runway 22L diverting attention from possible conflicts from other runways. Our takeoff was normal with the turn initiated at 500 ft AGL.

Title: LGT HAS POTENTIAL CONFLICT AFTER TKOF AND TURN.

Narrative: WITH FO FLYING, WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF FROM ORD RWY 22L TO FLY HDG 080 DEGS. NO MENTION WAS MADE OF POSSIBLE CONFLICTING TFC. THE TWR DID MENTION TO SOMEONE, NOT US, 'WE'LL SEE HOW THIS WORKS OUT.' THE CLOSEST WE CAME TO THE MLG ACCORDING TO OUR TCASII WAS PLUS 200 FT (OTHER ACFT) HAD LESS THAN 1/2 MI. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: CONVERGING FLT PATHS AFTER TKOF FROM RWY 14R AND RWY 22L AT ORD. LACK OF CONFLICTING TA'S BY TWR.
