Narrative:
While taxiing to parking area, I inadvertently turned part way off of taxiway. All 3 wheels did not cross double yellow line. When I realized what I was about to do, I turned back to the taxiway and at that time the left main gear wheel struck and broke off one of the taxiway edge marker lights. I immediately notified tower and upon parking, reported to tower office and described what had happened.

Title: SMA PLT IN TAXIING TFC SIT TURNS TOO SOON OFF TXWY AND HITS TXWY LIGHT, BREAKING IT.
Narrative: WHILE TAXIING TO PARKING AREA, I INADVERTENTLY TURNED PART WAY OFF OF TXWY. ALL 3 WHEELS DID NOT CROSS DOUBLE YELLOW LINE. WHEN I REALIZED WHAT I WAS ABOUT TO DO, I TURNED BACK TO THE TXWY AND AT THAT TIME THE L MAIN GEAR WHEEL STRUCK AND BROKE OFF ONE OF THE TXWY EDGE MARKER LIGHTS. I IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED TWR AND UPON PARKING, RPTED TO TWR OFFICE AND DESCRIBED WHAT HAD HAPPENED.
