Narrative:
My student and I were on a 45 degree entry for downwind runway 22 at cdw where we experienced a near midair collision with an small aircraft which was on climb out from runway 27 at cdw. The contributing factors were: a very high traffic density on this sunday morning. The simultaneous use of runway 22 and runway 27 at cdw. The pilot on climb out from runway 27 had obviously a too high nose attitude, therefore, could not see traffic in front of, or above him. What could be done to prevent a recurrence: the mandatory use of landing/taxi lights, strobes during takeoffs and lndgs at cdw during the wkends will help pilots to see and avoid traffic in such a busy area. Change of traffic patterns and climb out instructions when both runways are in use.

Title: ARR DEP TFC IN TFC PATTERN EXPERIENCE NMAC. OPPOSITE DIRECTION CLBING TFC.
Narrative: MY STUDENT AND I WERE ON A 45 DEG ENTRY FOR DOWNWIND RWY 22 AT CDW WHERE WE EXPERIENCED A NEAR MIDAIR COLLISION WITH AN SMA WHICH WAS ON CLBOUT FROM RWY 27 AT CDW. THE CONTRIBUTING FACTORS WERE: A VERY HIGH TFC DENSITY ON THIS SUNDAY MORNING. THE SIMULTANEOUS USE OF RWY 22 AND RWY 27 AT CDW. THE PLT ON CLBOUT FROM RWY 27 HAD OBVIOUSLY A TOO HIGH NOSE ATTITUDE, THEREFORE, COULD NOT SEE TFC IN FRONT OF, OR ABOVE HIM. WHAT COULD BE DONE TO PREVENT A RECURRENCE: THE MANDATORY USE OF LNDG/TAXI LIGHTS, STROBES DURING TKOFS AND LNDGS AT CDW DURING THE WKENDS WILL HELP PLTS TO SEE AND AVOID TFC IN SUCH A BUSY AREA. CHANGE OF TFC PATTERNS AND CLBOUT INSTRUCTIONS WHEN BOTH RWYS ARE IN USE.
