Narrative:
Military flight. During a dynamic type of intercept, our aircraft exited the northern border of our working area. We saw a commuter type aircraft to our north and immediately turned south to return to our area. As we were heading south, center came up and gave us an altitude and told us to head south. We should have set our INS up better to help keep track of the borders. We also need to realize how some of our training maneuvers are difficult to perform in small areas.
