Narrative:
Fell asleep in cockpit. Woke up and all asleep. Trip started in sat, deadhead in, cannot find a hotel room due to new hotel/old hotel contract phase in. Found a hotel room approximately 3 hours before departure. Depart sat at XA59Z, stop in mem for 3 hours, arrive in las at XI12Z or XC12 local for 9 plus 43 duty, 13 hours rest and then allowed by FARS to do it again. Deadhead flight started at XO18Z. The schedule is too tight and company is currently understaffed and doesn't want to replace you in mem when you complain. Corrective action suggestion: allow one crew member to sleep while in cruise. Better one alert at approach phase than all awake for 5 plus 12 hours while in cruise but very tired for approach phase. This is not the first time I have seen sleeping in the cockpit but since reading the book 'callback,' I wanted to start a record for future reference.
