Narrative:

This program is useless to the pilot. What good is it if the FAA sits on it for 9 months and still haven't answered thereby preventing the medical doctor from returning my medical. Until you can get flight standards to accept it you might as well scrap it. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter states he is so sorry he sent us this report. He was extremely frustrated with FAA medical department for sitting on a problem with his medical for so long with no communication. He met an FAA inspector friend at a conference and complained loud and long to him. The inspector followed up and found that his case had been closed, but the information was never put in the computer. It thus appeared that he was still being denied the medical. He has now been notified that information will be entered and records brought current within the week. He has no problem with ASRS and needed to let off some steam to someone. We were it! He felt better when sending it but is really sorry.

Title: RPTR HAS PROB WITH PROC OF FAA MEDICAL RECORDS IN OKC.

Narrative: THIS PROGRAM IS USELESS TO THE PLT. WHAT GOOD IS IT IF THE FAA SITS ON IT FOR 9 MONTHS AND STILL HAVEN'T ANSWERED THEREBY PREVENTING THE MEDICAL DOCTOR FROM RETURNING MY MEDICAL. UNTIL YOU CAN GET FLT STANDARDS TO ACCEPT IT YOU MIGHT AS WELL SCRAP IT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH REPORTER REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: RPTR STATES HE IS SO SORRY HE SENT US THIS RPT. HE WAS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED WITH FAA MEDICAL DEPT FOR SITTING ON A PROB WITH HIS MEDICAL FOR SO LONG WITH NO COM. HE MET AN FAA INSPECTOR FRIEND AT A CONFERENCE AND COMPLAINED LOUD AND LONG TO HIM. THE INSPECTOR FOLLOWED UP AND FOUND THAT HIS CASE HAD BEEN CLOSED, BUT THE INFO WAS NEVER PUT IN THE COMPUTER. IT THUS APPEARED THAT HE WAS STILL BEING DENIED THE MEDICAL. HE HAS NOW BEEN NOTIFIED THAT INFO WILL BE ENTERED AND RECORDS BROUGHT CURRENT WITHIN THE WK. HE HAS NO PROB WITH ASRS AND NEEDED TO LET OFF SOME STEAM TO SOMEONE. WE WERE IT! HE FELT BETTER WHEN SENDING IT BUT IS REALLY SORRY.
