Narrative:
On final approach to runway 22L ewr, tower called helicopter traffic that had us in sight. This helicopter was to cross the localizer, but would remain clear of our flight path. As traffic came closer. We received a TCASII RA. Traffic passed within 300 ft below. We had to initiate a climb to 1 DOT above GS to avoid a collision. This incident was reported to tower supervisor.

Title: FLC OF AN MLG ACR ACFT TOOK EVASIVE ACTION ON A FINAL VISUAL APCH AND CLBED MOMENTARILY TO AVOID A TWR RPTED HELI XING UNDERNEATH THEIR FLT PATH. NMAC.
Narrative: ON FINAL APCH TO RWY 22L EWR, TWR CALLED HELI TFC THAT HAD US IN SIGHT. THIS HELI WAS TO CROSS THE LOC, BUT WOULD REMAIN CLR OF OUR FLT PATH. AS TFC CAME CLOSER. WE RECEIVED A TCASII RA. TFC PASSED WITHIN 300 FT BELOW. WE HAD TO INITIATE A CLB TO 1 DOT ABOVE GS TO AVOID A COLLISION. THIS INCIDENT WAS RPTED TO TWR SUPVR.
