Narrative:
Flight outbound bna-vps had a mechanical problem (l-hand propeller indication fluctuation). Apparently crew called bna maintenance and explained their problem. Bna maintenance made the decision to have the aircraft return to bna. The dispatcher was never involved in loop process. The dispatcher was advised through 4TH hand source. Again, by the time I was notified, the flight was already safely on the ground. Where is the dispatch/pilot joint responsibility communication? The dispatcher needs to be involved in the loop.
