Narrative:
Location evv, evansville, ind. Tower was not operating. We elected to use runway 4. When checking the taxi chart reference commercial chart 11-1 mar/93, we found there is no way for an aircraft of our weight to reach runway 4 without back-taxiing over 1/2 the length of runway 4. The chart shows runway 18/36 and runway 9/27 limited to 50000 pounds. It is unsafe to be back-taxiing at night on the runway with no control tower. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter states they taxied taxiway T1 to taxiway H to the apron to taxiway C. In the process he had to cross runway 9/27 which is weight restr. No other way unless back-taxied on the most used runway, at night, with no tower in operation. Simply did not think that procedure was safe. He questions if the restrs are structural or operational in nature. Pleased that aircraft did not sink into pavement but not comfortable to think about having to do so again.

Title: ACR FINDS NO WAY TO TAXI AT NIGHT WITH TWR CLOSED WITHOUT USING TXWYS OR XING RWY WHICH ARE RESTR TO HIM DUE TO WT.
Narrative: LOCATION EVV, EVANSVILLE, IND. TWR WAS NOT OPERATING. WE ELECTED TO USE RWY 4. WHEN CHKING THE TAXI CHART REF COMMERCIAL CHART 11-1 MAR/93, WE FOUND THERE IS NO WAY FOR AN ACFT OF OUR WT TO REACH RWY 4 WITHOUT BACK-TAXIING OVER 1/2 THE LENGTH OF RWY 4. THE CHART SHOWS RWY 18/36 AND RWY 9/27 LIMITED TO 50000 LBS. IT IS UNSAFE TO BE BACK-TAXIING AT NIGHT ON THE RWY WITH NO CTL TWR. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH REPORTER REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: RPTR STATES THEY TAXIED TXWY T1 TO TXWY H TO THE APRON TO TXWY C. IN THE PROCESS HE HAD TO CROSS RWY 9/27 WHICH IS WT RESTR. NO OTHER WAY UNLESS BACK-TAXIED ON THE MOST USED RWY, AT NIGHT, WITH NO TWR IN OP. SIMPLY DID NOT THINK THAT PROC WAS SAFE. HE QUESTIONS IF THE RESTRS ARE STRUCTURAL OR OPERATIONAL IN NATURE. PLEASED THAT ACFT DID NOT SINK INTO PAVEMENT BUT NOT COMFORTABLE TO THINK ABOUT HAVING TO DO SO AGAIN.
