Narrative:
After a trip on nov/thu/93 we had brake trouble. After our mechanic changes the brakes and wheels, we decided to go out and high speed taxi the aircraft. This was started after several days of long duty and at the end of an 18 hour day. When the mechanic and I got out to the runway, I briefed him that, if things went wrong, as a last resort, rather than causing an accident, I would rather take the aircraft airborne. I also got a clearance from the tower to takeoff, just in case, so as not to cause problems. During one of the high speed taxies, the brakes started jerking. So, I pulled the aircraft airborne after coming back and re-evaluating the situation, with the previous long duty days and at the end of one long one, we should not have been out there high speed taxiing, exposing ourselves to a potential problem. We're now trying to resolve our long duty days so that our decision-making abilities are more sound!

Title: A CPR LTT PLT FLEW THE TFC PATTERN WITH ONLY 1 PLT.
Narrative: AFTER A TRIP ON NOV/THU/93 WE HAD BRAKE TROUBLE. AFTER OUR MECH CHANGES THE BRAKES AND WHEELS, WE DECIDED TO GO OUT AND HIGH SPD TAXI THE ACFT. THIS WAS STARTED AFTER SEVERAL DAYS OF LONG DUTY AND AT THE END OF AN 18 HR DAY. WHEN THE MECH AND I GOT OUT TO THE RWY, I BRIEFED HIM THAT, IF THINGS WENT WRONG, AS A LAST RESORT, RATHER THAN CAUSING AN ACCIDENT, I WOULD RATHER TAKE THE ACFT AIRBORNE. I ALSO GOT A CLRNC FROM THE TWR TO TKOF, JUST IN CASE, SO AS NOT TO CAUSE PROBS. DURING ONE OF THE HIGH SPD TAXIES, THE BRAKES STARTED JERKING. SO, I PULLED THE ACFT AIRBORNE AFTER COMING BACK AND RE-EVALUATING THE SIT, WITH THE PREVIOUS LONG DUTY DAYS AND AT THE END OF ONE LONG ONE, WE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN OUT THERE HIGH SPD TAXIING, EXPOSING OURSELVES TO A POTENTIAL PROB. WE'RE NOW TRYING TO RESOLVE OUR LONG DUTY DAYS SO THAT OUR DECISION-MAKING ABILITIES ARE MORE SOUND!
