Narrative:
During cruise we were handed off to ZMA. ZJX told us to contact ZMA on 128.05. My first officer dialed up 128.5. After several tries to contact ZMA, we finally discovered the problem. We were on the fourth day of our trip sequence and after working 13 1/2 hours the previous day with a reduced rest period we were both fatigued. Pilot fatigue was a factor in this problem, and I believe that pilot fatigue will continue to be a problem in regional airline flying.
