Narrative:

We were on route 6 inbound to sju. We had been given pilot's discretion 8000 ft to 6000 ft. At this point I noticed traffic at 3 O'clock converging at the same altitude on TCASII and visually. I began our descent and apparently the mlt did also. The TCASII gave an RA to not descend, so I turned left. The TCASII continued to give an RA to not turn and not descend. I rolled out to see the mlt beginning to make his evasive maneuver. Apparently he had just spotted us. Approach control never warned us of the converging traffic and TCASII RA's were impossible to fly and very confusing.
