Narrative:
After takeoff over airport, nose baggage door came open. Departed aircraft and landed on airport. After landing to recover door, met with FAA. While filling out report, I found that my medical license had lapsed about 60 days prior. I received a medical within 4 hours after I found it had expired and was issued a 3RD class medical, no limitations.

Title: BAGGAGE DOOR OPEN AND EXITED ACFT. MEDICAL EXPIRED.
Narrative: AFTER TKOF OVER ARPT, NOSE BAGGAGE DOOR CAME OPEN. DEPARTED ACFT AND LANDED ON ARPT. AFTER LNDG TO RECOVER DOOR, MET WITH FAA. WHILE FILLING OUT RPT, I FOUND THAT MY MEDICAL LICENSE HAD LAPSED ABOUT 60 DAYS PRIOR. I RECEIVED A MEDICAL WITHIN 4 HRS AFTER I FOUND IT HAD EXPIRED AND WAS ISSUED A 3RD CLASS MEDICAL, NO LIMITATIONS.
