Narrative:
At approximately 300 ft AGL on an ILS approach to runway 18L at memphis, observed an light transport at left 11 O'clock co-altitude and approximately 500 ft horizontal. Turned slightly into him (left as he was headed west) and increased descent to avoid midair collision. After he passed to right of us, tower advised us of him. He was on a go around, or taking off on runway 27. See and avoid saved us, not sure if he even saw us. (He was on a different tower frequency.)
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR ON APCH HAS NMAC WITH LTT.
Narrative: AT APPROX 300 FT AGL ON AN ILS APCH TO RWY 18L AT MEMPHIS, OBSERVED AN LTT AT L 11 O'CLOCK CO-ALT AND APPROX 500 FT HORIZ. TURNED SLIGHTLY INTO HIM (L AS HE WAS HEADED W) AND INCREASED DSCNT TO AVOID MIDAIR COLLISION. AFTER HE PASSED TO R OF US, TWR ADVISED US OF HIM. HE WAS ON A GAR, OR TAKING OFF ON RWY 27. SEE AND AVOID SAVED US, NOT SURE IF HE EVEN SAW US. (HE WAS ON A DIFFERENT TWR FREQ.)
