Narrative:

While touching down in an small aircraft the aircraft began to roll toward the edge of the runway. My instructor grabbed the controls to prevent a ground loop. To do so he had to stabilize direction. The result was an on the ground impact with a runway sign. I believe the situation occurred because of a high flare, rough touchdown and subsequent temporary loss of control toward the edge of the runway.
