Narrative:
No TA from ATC (approach control). Other aircraft was VFR ATR 8500 ft MSL and we were IFR at 9000 ft MSL. Other aircraft decided to climb through our altitude. Our TCASII equipment aircraft instructed us to 'climb.' (RA). We received a 'monitor vertical speed' instruction, at 9700 ft MSL and promptly returned to our assigned altitude when able. We expected an advisory from lex approach but received none regarding location or direction of traffic.

Title: POTENTIAL CONFLICT SENSED BY TCASII, GAVE RA ON OPPOSITE DIRECTION CLBING TFC.
Narrative: NO TA FROM ATC (APCH CTL). OTHER ACFT WAS VFR ATR 8500 FT MSL AND WE WERE IFR AT 9000 FT MSL. OTHER ACFT DECIDED TO CLB THROUGH OUR ALT. OUR TCASII EQUIP ACFT INSTRUCTED US TO 'CLB.' (RA). WE RECEIVED A 'MONITOR VERT SPD' INSTRUCTION, AT 9700 FT MSL AND PROMPTLY RETURNED TO OUR ASSIGNED ALT WHEN ABLE. WE EXPECTED AN ADVISORY FROM LEX APCH BUT RECEIVED NONE REGARDING LOCATION OR DIRECTION OF TFC.
