Narrative:
Flew into restr airspace while on a VFR training flight with student under hood. Not familiar with local area. I was not used to VFR navigation and it had been several yrs since instructing and navigating VFR. Flying I do is always in radar contact and on IFR flight plan. Did not have situational awareness/instructor currency (recent experience) to instruct and keep proper track of position using only VOR (no DME) and sectional.
