Narrative:

The captain of this flight, before starting out on our flight to reading, PA, briefed me that he was using the MEL'ed eec's on this aircraft. He explained he knew what the problem was with the eec's and they should not cause us any in-flight malfunction but if they did he would turn them off. Being new on the aircraft plus flying with a management pilot who taught my emb-120 ground school I figured he knew the system better that I did. I agreed with his logic so we flew 2 legs using the eec's in the on position even though I knew we should have followed aircraft MEL's . The eec's seemed to work throughout the duration of the flts.

Title: CAPT DECIDED TO USE MEL'ED EEC DURING FLT.

Narrative: THE CAPT OF THIS FLT, BEFORE STARTING OUT ON OUR FLT TO READING, PA, BRIEFED ME THAT HE WAS USING THE MEL'ED EEC'S ON THIS ACFT. HE EXPLAINED HE KNEW WHAT THE PROB WAS WITH THE EEC'S AND THEY SHOULD NOT CAUSE US ANY INFLT MALFUNCTION BUT IF THEY DID HE WOULD TURN THEM OFF. BEING NEW ON THE ACFT PLUS FLYING WITH A MGMNT PLT WHO TAUGHT MY EMB-120 GND SCHOOL I FIGURED HE KNEW THE SYS BETTER THAT I DID. I AGREED WITH HIS LOGIC SO WE FLEW 2 LEGS USING THE EEC'S IN THE ON POS EVEN THOUGH I KNEW WE SHOULD HAVE FOLLOWED ACFT MEL'S . THE EEC'S SEEMED TO WORK THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE FLTS.
